Allegro:The part of class where fast small beating jumps are performed at various speeds

adage: The part of class where slow, flowing, controlled movements are performed to deveelop beauty, grace, and balance

arriere:Backwards

Avant:forwards

arabesque: a movement where the dancer is balancing on one leg with the other extended to the back

Balancer:to swing or rock

Barre:A bar used to support you in the first part of class

cote:To the side or sideways

cou-de-pied:Neck of the foot or ankle joint

croise(en):diagonal

demi-pointe: Half pointe;to stand on the ball of the foot

dehors(en):Outwards

dedans(en):Inwards

Derriere:Behind

Devant:In front
